This is how to Install ADT with Eclipse on Ubuntu 11.04. In this case i use Ubuntu 11.04, Eclipse Galileo, Android SDK r12 for linux.

1. Install Eclipse

• Go to Ubuntu Software Center, then search eclipse n install it.

2. Download Android SDK

• Download Android SDK from http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html choose linux platform.
• Extract downloaded file to your home directory, in my case : /home/mombocil/android_sdk

3. Install ADT Plugin for Eclipse

• Open Eclipse, then go to Help > Install New Software, then click Add, insert https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/, in my case i use http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ becouse it failed when using https.
• Then OK, after that eclipse will download from tahta site until show Developers Tools on the Available software dialog.
• Select it then Next, after that it will show list of tools then Next again, after that accept the agreement then Finish.
• Note: If you get a security warning saying that the authenticity or validity of the software can’t be established, click OK.
• Restart your Eclipse

4. Configuring ADT

• Open Elipse, go to Window > Preference, select Android in left column.
• For the SDK Location in the main panel, click Browse… and locate your downloaded SDK directory then Apply, then OK.

5. Adding Platform and Other Component

• From within Eclipse, select Window > Android SDK and AVD Manager.
• To download components, use the graphical UI of the Android SDK and AVD Manager to browse the SDK repository and select new or updated components (see figure 1).
• The Android SDK and AVD Manager installs the selected components in your SDK environment.

Install GNOME3 on ubuntu 11.04
Open the terminal and run the following commands

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell

Java

Method 1

From canonical partners repository
Go to Ubuntu Software Center then choose edit then click Software sources now you need to click on other software then select canonical partners,canonical partners (Source code) click ok. Then

Now this will ask for source list update after this you can install the following packages from your command line

sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin sun-java6-fonts

Method 2

Open the terminal and run the following commands

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ferramroberto/java
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin sun-java6-fonts

If you want to install JDK use the following command

sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jdk

Testing Java Runtime Environment

You’ll want to confirm that your system is configured properly for Sun’s JRE. Check that the JRE is properly installed by running the following command from a terminal.

java -version

HINT: the script will ask you to select a video resolution. I think you’re better off with 1024×768-24, higher resolutions might not work.

NOTE: The script that I’ve described on a previous post works only for Ubuntu 10.04 and Ubuntu 10.10. For the new Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty) there’s an additional configuration to change, so I’ve modified the script in order to do that.

Here’s what happens under the hood: the script installs uvesafb and configures Grub and some parameters for the uvesafb kernel module; finally it rebuilds the initramfs image and updates Grub2. This updated version of the script also removes the vt.handoff=7 parameter from Grub’s configuration, here’s an explanation of what it is.

After you reboot it must be fix.

1. Change the views of Google Maps
2. Obtain the latitude and longitude of locations in Google Maps
3. Perform geocoding and reverse geocoding
4. Add markers to Google Maps

Before we start, we must have Google API.

Still from Android SDK, create a new Android Virtual Device to be used as an emulator that uses a Google API. The way is, click Virtual Device, then click the New button will appear the window “Create New Android Virtual Device” Fill in as shown below, then click Create AVD

To utilize the Google Maps feature, we need the Map API Key, without this we will not be able to display the MAP on Android. These sections are often forgotten, so many are confused, get the Map was not showing.

If u use Windows 7, find debug.keystore on C:\Users\<user>\.android then copy it to C:\.Open Command prompt, then go to this directory on command prompt: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_23\bin> then type this command :

keytool.exe -list -alias androiddebugkey -keystore "C:\debug.keystore" -storepass android -keypass android

Now go to http://code.google.com/android/maps-api-signup.html then input fingerprint and generate.

Now lets go to the code :

To be able to display a Google Map Map we need to add <uses-library> com.google.android.maps and his <uses-permission> INTERNET through AndroidManifest.xml file

In order for the city combobox contents in accordance with the selected state, then we need to have a variable that stores the relation of State and the city, here we use a HashMap where the key State Names and Name City into its data

FillComboCity method called after we choose a State. This is where excellence HashMap, to get the city data we do not need to do a loop as in the Array, we simply use the get method

The method we also perform fillComboCity Exception Handling NullPointerException. if the State selected is not found to produce a Null value. Due to her country is not found then the city must empty the contents of ComboBox.

After we learn about datepicker and timepicker on android, now we will learn how to make datepicker and timepicker on android looks more simple. Because the default is bigger for me and its consume more space in home screen. So we will make textbox to input datepicker and timepicker on android. The clue is when textbox selected it will popup datepicker and timepicker on android, the user can input and throw the value to textbox.
